PUBLICATIONS OF THE ACADEMY
NAVS (I) published an Information Bulletin during the tenure of the founder president of the Academy, Late Dr. C.M. Singh. It was probably released between 2001 and 2003, although no date is mentioned in the booklet. It contained the Aims and Objectives, Memorandum of the Association, and Rules and Regulations of the Academy, apart from the lists of Fellows and Members inducted in 1996, 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000. After the first ever elections, a new Governing council took over in 2004.
The Academy published Year Book 2006 and Year Book 2007 between 2004 and 2007 and commenced the publication of a brief printed Newsletter on 1st September 2004 but the publication was discontinued after the issue dated 28th December 2007. Due to various problems, including financial constraints, the Academy did not bring out any publication during 2008 and 2009 calendar years.
On 6th July 2009 the Academy, for the first time, nominated an Editor of the Academy. An alphabetical Directory of the Academy was printed and published in early 2010 and copies were sent by post to the Fellows and Members of the Academy resident in India and also to various institutions. An electronic version was emailed to the Fellows resident abroad. This was followed by the publication of electronic versions of three Information Bulletins (including a Prospectus) in the same year. These were emailed to the Fellows and Members resident in India and abroad.
In accordance with the decision taken by the new Governing Council in its meeting held on 17th February 2011, the publication of NAVS Newsletter was recommenced, but for the time being it is being published only in electronic form. It is being sent by email to individual Fellows and Members of the Academy, to several other institutions and to a large number of Veterinarians. It is also being posted on the Academy’s website: www.navsindia.org. The Academy also published the following booklets between 2014 and the present date and is in the process of publishing a “NAVS Handbook – 2016” during this year:
