NAVS Convocation
The Academy was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairying (Independent Charge) Government of India, Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on 18th December 1996 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and the Scrolls of Fellowship to the duly elected National Fellows/Members during 1994-95, were presented to them by the Hon’ble Minister at the Investiture ceremony. At the time of inauguration, the NAVS had also organized Workshop on Future Directions of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry during 21st Century, which was jointly sponsored by the Veterinary Council of India. Subsequent to this, ten more convocations of the Academy (along with conventions) were organized at various veterinary institutions in different parts of India.
Following is the Chronology of NAVS Convocations held so far:
- First NAVS Convocation: 18th December 1996 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

- Fifth NAVS Convocation: 5th May 2006 at JNKVV, Jabalpur, M.P.
- Sixth NAVS Convocation: 28th June 2007 at KVAFSU, Bangalore, Karnataka
- Seventh NAVS Convocation: 16th May 2008 at SKUAST, Jammu, J & K
- Eighth NAVS Convocation: 23rd January 2009 at SVVU, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
- Ninth NAVS Convocation: 30th October 2010 at NDRI, Karnal, Haryana.
- Tenth NAVS Convocation: 12th November 2011 at RAJUVAS, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
- Eleventh NAVS Convocation: 2nd November 2012 at DUVASU, Mathura, U.P.
- Twelfth NAVS Convocation: 28th January 2014 at LUVAS, Hisar, Haryana
- Thirteenth NAVS Convocation: 28th February 2015 at CGKV, Durg, Chhatisgarh
