Guidelines, Application Form and Score Card for the Applicants for NAVS (I) Dr. DVR Prakash Rao Life Time Achievement Award-cum-Late Smt Sundari Prakash Rao Memorial Endowment Lecture.
This award is primarily meant for distinguished veterinary scientists having BVSc &AH as basic qualification for life-time outstanding contribution in Veterinary Sciences. This award will be presented annually.
- Scientists aspiring for NAVS (I) Dr. DVR Prakash Rao Life Time Achievement Award-cum-Late Smt Sundari Prakash Rao Memorial Endowment Lecture should be engaged in teaching and research in any discipline of veterinary science with at least 25 years of experience.
- The award is meant for individual scientist for his/her extraordinary, original, creative contributions in advancement of basic sciences concepts, development of new technology and enhancement of productivity, profitability and sustainability in veterinary sciences.
- The award consists of two components namely, (i) citation and cash award of Dr DVR Prakash Rao Lifetime Achievement Award, and (ii) Late Smt Sundari Prakash Rao Memorial Endowment Lecture.
- The eligibility criteria for the award are as under:
- Basic degree in veterinary sciences.
- Eminent veterinary professional with significant contribution to the veterinary profession in India.
- The candidate must have attained a minimum age of 55 years on the last date of application.
- The award will be decided from amongst the three applicants invited by a search committee formed by the Governing Council of the Academy.
- The committee shall decide upon one candidate based on the merit of the candidate. The sponsor or his family member or their nominee shall be a permanent member of the selection committee.
- Applications for the award will be invited during each year.
- Applications are to be made in the prescribed “Application Form”, to be downloaded from the Academy website (http://www.navsindia.org)
- Applications will be accepted up to the specified date, mentioned in the advertisement of the year of the award.
- Members of the Judging Committee will not be considered for the award for that year.
- Proof for claims made in different columns should be attached.
- If in a particular year no outstanding entry will be identified, no award will be given in that year.
- Application which is not in the prescribed format or which gives incomplete or incorrect information is liable for outright rejection.
- Minimum qualifying marks for this award would be 75% of maximum score.
- The presentation of award will be made during NAVS (I) annual convocation. 1. Scientists aspiring for NAVS (I) Dr. DVR Prakash Rao Life Time.
- The awardee would give a presentation on achievements of his/her work.
- The awardee will be presented a medal (50 gram gold-plated silver medal) along with a citation, and a cash award of Rs. 51,000.
